Thanks to all of the teams that made our first event a great success! We had 17 teams make the journey to Splat Zone in Albany, GA where the event ended up with LA SWAT taking 1st in Novice and Little Rugrats taking 1st in the Young Guns. We're getting ready for the 2nd event of the series which will be held at Stone Serious Paintball in Lake City, FL on Saturday, Jan 14, 2006! Stone Serious has two great fields that we'll have available to us. Both fields are netted, flat, and covered in grass (I just played there yesterday...very nice place). They have flushing toilets and on-site concessions available, and the field is just 5 minutes off the I-75 exit. Easy to get and very close to town. Visit our website for more info: www.thegfpl.com

What do we need to update on the site? The registration has been working since before Thanksgiving. Can you please point out what isn't updated and we'll correct it if necessary. Thanks! ***** Prizes are cash for the second event. The first event was Ions or paint. The payouts are posted on the site. www.thegfpl.com***** The field will be set up THIS weekend sometime on Saturday to allow teams to play the weekend before if they so desire. Both fields will be set up, though we may only use one depending on the number of teams. The last event we had 17 teams and ran it all on one field including semi's and finals without any time issues. ***** Early registration ends tomorrow, so if you plan on coming and want to save $25 on entry, register and pay before midnight tomorrow. There are currently 8 Novice teams and 4 YG teams registered.

Apology accepted. I was worried that we missed something....whew!
We hope you decide to attend to! We're up to 12 teams in Novice, so that puts first place up to $750 cash! Three more teams and it'll go up to a cool grand!

Hope you do well in the profits.
So, baisically, the prizes are set in stone beacause the moneys now there?
Some "lesser" tournoments that ive been hearing about have been having fine line rules that if they don't get a certain ammount of teams, they dont have near the prizes.

I don't understand the "because the money's there now?" comment, but I can tell you that the payouts are set because they're based on the number of teams attending. As more teams attend, we simply increase the payouts.
A lot of events have a team minimum -- in fact, the AWOL event at the end of the month has one. No one wants to run an event and lose money, and requiring a minimum helps that.
Think about the event this weekend at LCP -- 3 Vision Shockers regardless of # of teams attending. I think Jamie got 12 teams (I read somewhere) but what if he only had five? He'd not even collect enough to pay for one shocker! That's more than $1000 that he'd lose! Too big of a risk if you ask me...
